We are supporting new talent by signing an agreement with SAFA to enhance FP students’ employability

Torrent Group and the Sagrada Familia Professional Schools Foundation (SAFA) have signed a partnership agreement to promote training activities in plastic injection techniques. This initiative is part of the Production Schedule Training Programme, which takes place at the San Luis School in El Puerto de Santa María.

As you know, our company regularly hosts SAFA students on different training modules, welcoming them into our production plants to carry out their final-year practicals. By signing of this agreement, we want to expand our partnership with SAFA, and we have donated an injection-moulding machine to train students in this technique, which will be added to the machining cycle curriculum.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Managing Director of the SAFA Foundation, Enrique Gómez-Puig, and the president of the Torrent Group, David Torrent. The headmistress of San Luis School, Mari Carmen Carreto, and the training manager, Carlos Guerrero, were present on behalf of SAFA. To represent Torrent, Eduardo Jiménez, Director of Torrent Innova, and Antonio Navarro, Industrial director, were in attendance.

During the day, attendees visited the school’s facilities: the Vocational Training workshops, the Museum of Natural Sciences and RTC (Reinvent the Classroom), a technology classroom for students to work on projects, inspired by the “maker” philosophy of learning-through-doing.
